- Fast Times at Ridgemont High. According to Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies, the oldest Gen Xers were born as early as 1965, which would've put the first batch of them in the teenage workforce by the early-'80s.
- Do the Right Thing. As each generation starts to come into their own in their late-teens/young adult years, they inevitably begin to clash with the ideals of the generation that directly proceeded their own — in other words, their parents, teachers, bosses, or any figure of authority.

- Swingers. While grunge music is often what first comes to mind when one things of the soundtrack of Generation X, other types of music hit critical mass as Gen Xers were coming into their own.
- Law & Order. Law & Order still manages to gain new viewers and new spinoffs every year. The police procedural-slash-legal drama was created by Dick Wolf and first premiered in 1990.
- Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Law & Order spinoff, Law & Order: SVU came nine years after the original premiered.SVU is the longest-running live-action scripted American primetime series for good reason.
- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Another one of the most famous and popular crime procedurals of all time is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. It first premiered in 2000, kind of on the heels of Law & Order.
- Criminal Minds. Criminal Minds is another long-running crime procedural. With 15 seasons available to binge on Paramount+, there's a whole lot to relive or catch up on.
