George William Peppard ( / pəˈpɑːrd /; October 1, 1928 – May 8, 1994) was an American actor. He secured a major role as struggling writer Paul Varjak when he starred alongside Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), [1] and later portrayed a character based on Howard Hughes in The Carpetbaggers (1964).

George Peppard, Jr. (October 1, 1928 – May 8, 1994) was an American movie and television actor. His roles included in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's , and the television series The A-Team, where he was the leader of the group, who was often smoking a cigar. Peppard had lung cancer and died of pneumonia on May 8, 1994 in Los Angeles.
