Als Allroundfahrer war er im Formelwagen ebenso gut wie im Tourenwagen, Sportwagen, in Langstreckenrennen und besonders bei Bergrennen, wo er dreimal Europameister wurde. Seine größten Erfolge feierte er bei Sportwagenrennen als Werksfahrer für Porsche.
