It is influenced by the multiverse created in the IDW Publishing canon. On November 12, 2021, it was rumored a series is in development and the plan is to sell it to a major streaming service.
On December 21, 2016, Erik Burnham commented the upcoming Ghostbusters 101 mini-series was a story requested by both the fans and Ghost Corps.
