"Godzilla: King of the Monsters" does not follow but draws greatly from the classic "Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster" which first introduced us to Ghidorah and teamed up a battling Godzilla and Rodan to take on the bigger threat of Ghidorah when Mothra as a larva was getting its butt kicked by the monster.
