The Gold Coast-Hamburg Historic District, situated on and below the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, has the highest concentration of architecturally significant historic houses in Davenport. Self-guided walking and driving brochures are available on the website.
Mission Statement. We, as the Gold Coast & Hamburg Historic District Association, are dedicated to preserving the built heritage of Davenport's First Neighborhood. Additionally, we collect its histories providing context and understanding of the great importance of this district.

The Hamburg Historic District is one of Iowa’s largest historic districts and received national designation as an historic district in 1984. The neighborhood was home to many of Davenport’s early German settlers beginning in the mid-19th century.
