'Hard Volume' was recorded in 1988 in a Los Angeles studio when the band were fresh from a tour and you can tell they still had their sh t totally together.

Mar 24, 2003 · 'Hard Volume' was recorded in 1988 in a Los Angeles studio when the band were fresh from a tour and you can tell they still had their sh t totally together. In the liner notes Rollins concedes that the production sounds a little light but that was due to the studio that they used, at the time, being geared up more for Rap than Heavy Rock.

Unlike the original 1989 U.S. CD release of 'Hard Volume', and the U.K CD of 'Hard Volume' — this 1999 remastered doesn't include the live recording of 'Joy Riding With Frank' (Live in Linz, Austria, 1988). This CD is housed in a jewel case with an 8-page booklet.
