Sir Henry Hallett Dale OM GBE FRS (9 June 1875 – 23 July 1968) was an English pharmacologist and physiologist. For his study of acetylcholine as agent in the chemical transmission of nerve pulses (neurotransmission) he shared the 1936 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Otto Loewi.
Director of the Davy-Faraday Research Laboratory, 1942-1946. Hallett Dale was a medical doctor and researcher. His research topics included work into the effects of poisoning and anaphylactic shock, he also helped to standardise drugs and anti-toxins.
