Herman John Wedemeyer (May 20, 1924 – January 25, 1999) was an American actor, football player, and politician. He is best known for portraying Sergeant/Detective "Duke" Lukela on the crime drama Hawaii Five-O (1972–1980).

In 1945, “Squirming” Herman Wedemeyer, a graduate of St. Louis High School, was Hawai’i’s first consensus All-American football player. The backfield included the U.S. Army’s Doc Blanchard and Glenn Davis, and Bob Fenimore of Oklahoma A&M, now known as Oklahoma State.
Wedemeyer, nicknamed "Squirmin' Herman," was the star attraction. In a 20-13 victory over California, he gained 202 yards on kick returns and threw two touchdown passes. He led a 26-0 victory over Southern California.
