From an early age he showed a deeply spiritual character. He broke away from his family’s traditions and belief systems, refusing to participate in empty rituals.

  3. The word "Sikhism" derives from the Punjabi word "Sikh", meaning follower of the religion. Which itself derived from the Sanskrit word "shishya", meaning "learner" or "seeker of truth". The founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, used the term "Sikh" to refer to his followers, who were disciples of his teachings. Comment.
