It was pretty thin, but enjoyable. I just wish it was a bit longer. Like maybe at least 10 to 20 minutes longer. The pacing felt wrong. It took like 30 minutes for the plot to get started, then they spend like 20 minutes explaining the magic school.
I wanted to love Mary and the witch’s flower, for all the reasons you mentioned, but was kind of put off by it halfway through the movie. I’d give it a 4/10, probably wouldn’t watch it a second time.
