Howard University School of Law (Howard Law or HUSL) is the law school of Howard University, a private, federally chartered historically black research university in Washington, D.C. It is one of the oldest law schools in the country and the oldest historically black law school in the United States.
Howard University School of Law opened its doors in 1869 during a time of dramatic change in the United States. There was a great need to train lawyers who would have a strong commitment to helping black Americans secure and protect their newly established rights.
The HUSL JD and LLM applications are available. We look forward to reviewing your 2024 application. The priority deadline to be considered for scholarships is December 15, 2023. All applications must be submitted by March 15, 2024.
