  3. About. Hugi Guðmundsson (born 1977 in Reykjavík, Iceland) is one of the most prominent Icelandic contemporary composers of his generation. He studied classical guitar from a young age, but early on his true passion was playing electric guitar in death metal bands.

  6. Bio for program notes – Hugi Gudmundsson. Hugi Guðmundsson was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, in 1977. He studied composition at Reykjavik College of Music with Úlfar Ingi Haraldsson, Royal Danish Academy of Music with Hans Abrahamsen, Bent Sørensen and Niels Rosing-Schow and electronic music The Institute of Sonology, The Netherlands.
