The Hunter College High School (HCHS) application for entry in Fall 2024 closed at 4:00pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, as scheduled.
The seventh grade year is one of adjustment to the academic standards of HCHS. Students are programmed for a wide variety of courses and programs to prepare them for high school work.
Admission to Hunter College High School is exceptionally selective, only being open to seventh-grade students, with the admission process consisting of two steps. Students from the five boroughs of New York City with high scores on standardized tests are eligible to take the entrance exam during their sixth-grade school year.
