Imelda Mary Philomena Bernadette Staunton CBE (born 9 January 1956) [1] is an English actress and singer. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Staunton began her career in repertory theatre in 1976 and appeared in various theatre productions in the United Kingdom.

- She's married to a familiar MASTERPIECE face. Staunton has been married to Downton Abbey‘s very own Mr. Carson, Jim Carter, since 1983, after the two appeared together in a production of Guys and Dolls at London’s National Theatre the year before.
