- “Song For Adam” (1972) It’s hard to find a weak song on Browne’s 1972 debut album. Most folks know the bouncy hit “Doctor My Eyes” and the languid ballad “Jamaica Say You Will” from that disc.
- “Looking Into You” (1972) This is one of the first examples of Browne’s ability to conjure a lilting piano melody that will have you in the song’s corner before he even sings a word.
- “The Times You’ve Come” (1973) 1973’s For Everymandidn’t quite reach the heights of his debut album, but Browne is on top of his game on this track. Cascading acoustic guitars are the backdrop for one of his finest meditations of love and loss.
- “Linda Paloma” (1976) 1974’s Late for the Skywas Browne’s masterpiece, an album for which there can’t be enough praise (and which isn’t represented on this list because all of the finest songs are pretty much singer-songwriter standards by now.)

This album has some big names, and I do not understand it did not have any sales. We have Jackson Browne, Aimee Mann, Benmont Tench, Steve Nieve ( Elvis Costello's multitalent), Jim Keltner and the late great Nicky Hopkins on piano . There are really some nice tunes , with a great mastering job from Bob Ludwig.
