Marvin Frederick Hamlisch (June 2, 1944 – August 6, 2012) was an American composer and conductor. He is one of few people to win Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards, a feat dubbed the "EGOT". He and composer Richard Rodgers are the only people to have won those prizes and a Pulitzer Prize ("PEGOT"). [1]

The main theme, "The Informant," is a piano-led meditation very much in the style of David Raksin 's theme for Laura, lush and melodic and wistful.
Composer Marvin Hamlisch is probably best known for the music he wrote in the ‘70s for two films, The Sting and The Way We Were, and the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. In 2009, he scored The Informant!, a movie that humorously tells the tale of a corporate whistleblower with his own share of personal flaws.
