  6. Biography. Born in Penmaenmawr, Wales, Innes Lloyd spent three years in the Royal Navy during World War Two, after which he attended the Central School of Speech and Drama. Briefly a repertory theatre actor in the late Forties, Lloyd aspired to work in broadcasting. In 1953, he joined BBC Radio before moving to television as a studio manager.
