Innogy SE was an energy company based in Essen, Germany. It is now merged and integrated into German energy company E.ON. History. The company was created on 1 April 2016, by splitting the renewable, network and retail businesses of RWE into a separate entity.

As a result the wind, solar and hydropower businesses as well as the biomass, biogas and gas storage activities are transferred to RWE.

Dec 14, 2019 · The transaction will see Eon acquire Innogy, followed by a series of asset swaps that will radically transform both groups’ business. First, Eon will get RWE’s 76.8% stake in Innogy and will then make an all-cash offer of €40.00 per share to innogy’s minority shareholders.
Jul 1, 2020 · As well as wind and solar projects, the innogy assets now transferred to RWE also include hydropower, biomass, biogas and gas storage activities, on top of a stake in Austrian electric utility KELAG Kärntner Elektrizitätswirtschafts AG. RWE already integrated E.ON's renewable energy business in the fall of 2019.
