Irene Shubik. A British producer whose most enduring work was Rumpole of the Bailey (1978), Shubik originally commissioned the story as a BBC Play for Today in 1975 before producing the first full series at ITV. She received a BAFTA nomination for Wessex Tales (1973) and notably devised The Jewel in the Crown (1984) alongside Ken Taylor.
