In the 1980s Laurence Olivier starred as Lear in a tv production, directed by Michael Elliott. This version also had John Hurt as the Fool, which sounds cool. King Lear has also inspired some modern tv hit shows, like Succession. As a fan of Succession, I really enjoyed reading King Lear and picking up on some of the similarities.
