Sep 13, 2020 · UCLA was tied for fourth overall in this category with an 89% six-year graduation rate. In addition, UCLA was named the No. 1 public institution among the best colleges for veterans. In 2019–20, there were 536 members of the military enrolled at UCLA, the highest among the top 26 schools ranked in the category.
In 2019 (the most recent ranking), the center placed UCLA among the nation’s top research universities — both public and private. This ranking focuses on nine key measures of university research performance, including competitively awarded research grants and contracts, faculty membership in the National Academies, faculty awards, the number of doctorates awarded and other factors.

The School is named after Meyer and Renee Luskin—UCLA alumni, Angelenos and philanthropists—who generously gave a $100 million gift to UCLA, half of which funded endowments in the School of Public Affairs. On March 18, 2011, the School was officially named the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin School of Public Affairs.
