Not sure about Navy Pier (there is a free shuttle nearby), but to get to Magnificent Mile, all you have to do is go up a block, walk over the bridge, and then you are on it. Many stores along the way, and the Water Tower, Macy's, etc are some blocks away.

Aug 01, 2019 · The idea of constructing the Magnificent Mile was part of the 1909 Burnham Plan of Chicago, and it was set to replace Pine Street in 1920 in light of the Michigan Avenue Bridge opening the same year. This bridge created more opportunity for retail along Michigan Avenue, and encouraged real estate developers to capitalize on the new space.
It is a little over a mile walk. When you come to a bridge, usually there will be someone standing there asking if u need directions to the navy pier, and then they will ask u for money. I just said no thank u. U just cross the bridge and the the pier is not far.
It's what you do on Magnificent Mile! You must stop and see The Bean. It's such a unique structure. Check out Millenium Park while you're over there. The Navy Pier is great if the weather is nice. If you want beautiful views of the city from a distance, go on the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel.
