Heller started off his acting career mostly in film roles, appearing in the Eddie Murphy action flick "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984), "Fast Forward" (1985) and the Klaus Kinski horror feature "Crawlspace" (1986). He also appeared in the TV movie "Stillwatch" (CBS, 1986-87).
