Known for his gravelly raspy voice, McGee tends to play gruff, blue-collar type characters. He is best known as Chief Jerry Reilly on the television series Rescue Me.
Trivia. Jack McGee. As a firefighter, he served with FDNY Engine Co. 89 and Ladder Co. 50 in the Bronx. Did not start acting until he was 35 years old. Admitted in an interview with A.V. Club that he's a recovering alcoholic and quit drinking completely in July 1995.
