Mabel married Jacob Grant Hollenbeck (1864-1939) an assistant passenger manager for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, on New Year's Day 1889, at Kankakee, Ill. They were divorced a few years after son Webb Parmelee Hollenbeck (1891-1966) was born. Years later, Mabel dismissed questions about Jacob by saying, "We never speak of him.
