As he took it out of the holster, he accidentally pulled the trigger, striking the man in the right leg. Edmiston drove the man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was reported in stable condition.

Ms. Edmiston died in 1967, and James Edmiston moved thereafter to Monmouth, Oregon, where he died on September 27, 1973, at the age of 87.
