Jasper Tudor, duke of Bedford (born c. 1430—died December 21/26, 1495) was the leader of the Lancastrians in Wales, uncle and guardian of Henry, earl of Richmond, afterward Henry VII of England. The second son of Owen Tudor, founder of the family’s fortunes, he was knighted in 1449 and created earl of Pembroke about 1452.

- Jasper was born out of a secret marriage. His mother had been the Queen of England, Katherine of Valois. After her husband (Henry V) died, she secretly married a member of her household, a Welshman called Owen Tudor, and bore him two sons – Edmund and Jasper.
- It was from this wardship that the future Henry VII would be born. Edmund married Lady Margaret, and got her pregnant right away. She had a son, Henry. Edmund died, but his brother, Jasper, would spend the rest of his life protecting his nephew from the civil wars known as the Wars of the Roses.

Mar 10, 2017 · Jasper was born c. 1431 probably at Hatfield. He was the second son of Owen Tudor and Catherine of Valois. Catherine was the French princess who married King Henry V of England and gave birth to King Henry VI. So Jasper and his elder brother Edmund were half-brothers of the Lancastrian king.

Brother of Edmund Tudor (father of the future Henry VII ). Jasper played a major role on behalf of the Lancastians in the Wars of the Roses and was with his nephew Henry Tudor in exile in Brittany. He married during Henry VII's reign, but had no legitimate heir. He may have fathered an illegitimate daughter named Ellen.
