Jim Valentino (born October 28, 1952) is an American writer, penciler, editor and publisher of comic books, best known for his 1990–1992 work on Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Comics, and for co-founding Image Comics, a company publishing creator-owned comics.

(b. 28 October 1952, USA) 'What If'?' Jim Valentino was born in the Bronx, New York. Valentino began his career working on mini-comics in the early eighties. These stories, many of them later collected in the book 'Vignettes', were mostly autobiographical, inspired by underground comix masters R. Crumb and Vaughn Bode.
