Apr 11, 2013 · As a feminist and a “sensitive viewer,” it wasn’t what Professor Joanne Savage wanted to find: a lack of evidence to suggest that violent media led to violent crime. But as a criminologist, she had to face the facts.
Her holistic approach to the problem of violent crime is framed by Bryan Vila's general evolutionary-ecological paradigm (GEEP), an interdisciplinary, integrational theory of the causes of crime. She currently teaches courses related to criminology and research methods. Faculty profile page.
