John Heard Jr. (March 7, 1946 – July 21, 2017) was an American actor. Heard made his debut appearance in film with the ensemble Between the Lines (1977). Jul 22, 2017 · NEW YORK (AP) — Actor John Heard, whose many roles included the father in the “Home Alone” series and a corrupt detective in “The Sopranos,” has died. He was 71. Heard was found dead Friday in a hotel in Palo Alto, California, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s office said Saturday.
John Heard was a noted American actor, who regaled his audience over a period of almost four decades, appearing in 105 films and 67 television series during this period. Raised in theatrical environment, he began to appear on stage while doing his Masters degree in theater at the Catholic University of America.
