Along with directing several Australian and Hollywood films, Polson is the founder of short film competition Tropfest, which has expanded from Sydney-only beginnings to be a global event. Most recently, Polson has directed episodes of the hit US TV series Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
