Griffith, and was involved in the formation of United Artists and 20th Century-Fox. He also had a brief romance with Norma Talmadge and a tax evasion scandal.

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 22 -- Joseph M. Schenck, one of the last surviving giants of the motion picture industry, died today at his Beverly Hills home. He was 82 years old.
