Karataş, Adana ilinin bir ilçesidir. Doğu Akdeniz bölgesinde Seyhan ve Ceyhan nehirlerinin doğal sınırları içerisinde kurulmuş olup Adana'ya 48 km uzaklıktadır. 1986 yılında Adana'da Yüreğir ilçesinin kurulmasıyla köylerinin bir kısmı bu ilçeye bağlanmıştır ve 2020 yılı itibarı ile 43 mahallesi vardır.
