Kirk Acevedo (born November 27, 1971) is an American actor. Notable is his portrayal of Miguel Alvarez in the HBO series Oz, Joe Toye in Band of Brothers and his role as FBI Agent Charlie Francis in the science-fiction series Fringe from 2008 onwards.
Kirk Acevedo is best known for his Cable Ace and Alma Award nominated performance as Miguel Alvarez in the critically acclaimed HBO drama Oz. He also starred in Academy Award winners Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco's crime drama The Black Donnelly's for NBC. Additional television credits include starring roles in Fringe, Law and Order: Trial by Jury and the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.
Acevedo's parents were born in New York City and lived in the Bronx, where both their sons, Richard and Kirk Acevedo, were born and raised. Since childhood, Acevedo has shown an interest in acting; he performed before his family in improvised shows. Acevedo was a drama major in high school.
