Krokus est formé en 1974 dans la ville de Soleure.Le nom du groupe est inspiré du genre de plantes qui pousse, notamment, dans les Alpes suisses, le Crocus.Dans sa composition d'origine, Chris Von Rohr est à la batterie et au piano, Tommy Kiefer comme chanteur et guitariste, Remo Spadino à la basse et Hansi Droz comme deuxième guitariste [2].
