Lajatico is located 81 kilometres south west of Florence, the regional capital of Tuscany and has a population of around 1,300 inhabitants.
Overview. A tiny village in Valdera perched on a hill and surrounded by fertile countryside, Lajatico is the birthplace of Andrea Bocelli, who every year organises a summer concert at the Teatro del Silenzio, a natural theatre built taking advantage of the conformation of the hills, about one kilometre from the village.
