Lake Jocassee. Nestled in the mountains of Pickens and Oconee Counties, Lake Jocassee is a 7,565 acre reservoir with a mean depth of 154 feet and maximum depth of 351 feet. Duke Energy impounded the Whitewater, Thompson, Toxaway, and Horsepasture Rivers in 1973 as a pump storage facility.
