Lassie, poisoned by pesticides, is found by an up-and-coming race horse, Glory, and her young owner Gary. Once well again, she becomes a fixture at Gary's home where his father trains race horses and befriends a newborn colt—then Glory is threatened by a marauding cougar and badly injures her right foreleg.
