The city of Lawrenceburg is the county seat of Lawrence County, Tennessee, United States, [6] The largest city on the state's southern border between Chattanooga and Memphis, it lies on the banks of Shoal Creek. The population was 11,633 at the 2020 United States Census. The city is named after War of 1812 American Navy officer James Lawrence .

Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, is located south of Nashville and Columbia, Tennessee and north of Florence, Alabama. Take Highway 43 or Highway 64 to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The Square is located two blocks west of the intersection of Highway 43 (North Locust Avenue) and Highway 64 (West Gaines Street).
Lawrenceburg is a good-sized town in the southern portion of Middle Tennessee . Understand. It is believed to actually have been the site of "Chicasa", the encampment Hernando de Soto and his party made in the winter of 1540-1541.
