This British drama focuses on William Thorne (Robert Donat), the vicar of a small village, who leads a modest life as a clergyman. Supporting his wife, Vera (Kay Walsh), and musically talented daughter, Susan (Adrienne Corri), with his work, Thorne is also thoroughly devoted to his community.
