Description. Leopold V was the younger brother of the Emperor Ferdinand II; though not actually ordained, he became Bishop of Strasbourg in 1607. In 1626 he renounced his ecclesiastical positions to become the Archduke of Further Austria and to marry Claudia de’ Medici.
