You can access Grandfather Mountain here but don’t forget Green Mountain Creek Falls, a lovely roadside waterfall . The Blowing Rock is known as “North Carolina’s Oldest Travel Attraction” and is at the top of most itineraries.

4 days ago · Some of our favorite parts in Avery County include the Linn Cove Viaduct and Beacon Heights, with the latter part of the Tanawha Trail (Rough Ridge and Boone Fork). Newland is a nice town and the county seat of Avery. A short drive from their downtown is Waterfalls Park, located just off NC-194.
