Lions for Lambsis a 2007 American wardramafilm directed by Robert Redfordabout the connection between a platoon of United States soldiers in Afghanistan, a U.S. senator, a reporter, and a Californiacollege professor. It stars Redford, Tom Cruise, and Meryl Streep.
Robert Redford's liberal propaganda film Lions for Lambs is a cynical and heavy handed look at the War on Terror.
Lions for Lambs was, to me, a poor attempt at a good idea. This film is supposed to be showing war from several angles; specifically, the consequences of war and the reactions to it. Tom Cruise' character is the politician using the war to further his campaign.
Lions for Lambs is intellectual, profound and devastatingly incisive, and it will leave you with an extremely bitter taste in your mouth because it is absolutely true. It is about how the world should work and how it actually does work - and the powerful, negative messages you are left with leave you in utter hopelessness.

I'm not sure that's what "Lions for Lambs" intends to demonstrate, but it does, exhaustingly. Essentially, if I have this right, we should never have invaded Iraq, but now that we're there, (1) we can't very well leave, and (2) we can't very well stay, so (3) the answer is, stay while in the process of leaving.
