Lisa Ann Murkowski (/ m ɜːr ˈ k aʊ s k iː / mur-KOW-skee; born May 22, 1957) is an American attorney and politician serving as the senior United States senator for Alaska, having held that seat since 2002. Murkowski is the second-most senior Republican woman in the Senate, after Susan Collins of Maine.
