Little Turtle . His Miami name was Mishikinakwa, but the English called him Little Turtle. Mishikinakwa was born in 1752 in a village close to where Fort Wayne would later be built. His mother was a Mahican and his father a Miami Chief. Little Turtle was destined to become the greatest of all the Miami Chiefs.
