Logan is a fair-sized town and is growing rapidly, located in the Wasatch Range region of northern Utah. The town is home to Utah State University, a state school with approximately 23,000 students. Logan, city, seat (1859) of Cache county, northern Utah, U.S. It lies along the Logan River (named for Ephraim Logan, a trapper), in the Cache Valley, 35 miles (56 km) north-northeast of Ogden. The city is built on terraces of prehistoric Lake Bonneville at the mouth of Logan Canyon, 4,535 feet.
