Apr 11, 2024 · Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, count de Toulouse (born June 6, 1678, Versailles, Fr.—died Dec. 1, 1737, Rambouillet) was a French admiral general, a son of Louis XIV and his mistress Mme de Montespan. Legitimized in 1681, he was an admiral of France at 5, and at 12 he accompanied his father to Holland, where he was wounded in the siege of Naumur.

Louis Alexandre was created Count of Toulouse in 1681 at the time of his legitimation, and, in 1683, at the age of five, grand admiral. In February 1684, he became colonel of an infantry regiment named after him and in 1693 mestre de camp of a cavalry regiment. During the War of the Spanish Succession, he was given the task of defending Sicily.
