Louise Dresser (born Louise Josephine Kerlin; October 5, 1878 – April 24, 1965) was an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her roles in the many films in which she played the wife of Will Rogers, including State Fair and David Harum.
Louise Dresser was a versatile actress who started as a singer and performed in vaudeville, Broadway and films. She was nominated for the first Oscar for her role in A Ship Comes In (1928) and played historical figures such as Catherine the Great and Empress Elizabeth.
