Oct 30, 2012 · Disney has agreed to buy Lucasfilm Ltd., the creator of Star Wars and other entertainment brands, for $4.05 billion in a stock and cash transaction. The deal will combine Disney's global portfolio of content, technology and brands with Lucasfilm's legendary franchise and innovation. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015.
